My Favorite Cookbooks and Places to Find Inspiration

I’m still going Live on Instagram every Tuesday morning to share some tips with you! People see my page and say “Wow, you are so good with your eating” and “where can I learn to do that?” The truth is I was never really great in the kitchen. But I have gotten really good at finding some great recipes and tailoring it to fit our individual needs. The more I did it, the more I liked it, and the better I get at it. Of course, I have some epic fails! Like “Nailed It” fails! But I just don’t give up! That’s really the difference in every success story - not giving up! Here are some of my favorites.

  1. Skinnytaste Fast and Slow - While I don’t love the name of the cookbook this collection of recipes is a total win for our family! Lots of slow cooker ideas and tons of flavor! The “FAST” are some of the easiest and delicious recipes I’ve tasted. I give this one a two thumbs up.

  2. Whole New You by Tia Mowry - this cook book is a whole foods gem! I’ve found every recipe in here really easy to make. Quick too! I don’t particularly care for the oils she uses but I just sub out for the oils I use (olive, avocado, and coconut). If you get this one, take time to read the beginning of the book. Her health story is inspiring.

  3. The Laura Lea Balanced Cookbook - I love the sweetness in this book. She also helped me see my love of peanut butter was totally valid! Beyond her cookbook she has a great Instagram Page and website filled with recipes. I enjoy almost all of her baked goods and non baked sweet treats!

  4. A Couple Cooks - I don’t have their cookbook but it’s on my list. Until then I’ll keep enjoying their creative ideas on Instagram and on their web page! They thrive on vegetarian recipes but you don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy them. They are a young couple with a child so they understand pleasing the kiddos. Totally worth the look my friends!

  5. The Blondelish - Love this gal’s page! She makes a lot of chicken, a lot of pastas, and a lot of salads. She’s the reason I started making my own granola and I haven’t had a bowl of commercial cereal since! Her stuff is easy, comes in a video, and has a world view! Check her Instagram and her web page.

As I find more, I will share more! But start with these! Let me know if any of these work for you and feel free to share this friends!!
