My kids start school next week so I thought it would be fun to involve them in this week’s blog. I asked them to share with me some of their favorite school lunches (besides the chicken fingers in the cafeteria at school). We do our best to encourage variety and balance but never impose hard restrictions. I’m under the belief that would only do more harm then good. I will not hide. Right now, this is me. Sometimes life is, what it is. And for me, this week, it means nursing a small surgical wound on the side of my face because I had a small basal cell carcinoma removed. With all this on my mind, let’s talk basal cell carcinoma, if you may be at risk, and what you should know to protect yourself….besides wearing your sunscreen!
Summer just wouldn’t be the same without a nice cool smoothie in the mix. They can also be a healthy addition to your regular rotation. Personally, smoothies have become my sweet fix. I know what you’re thinking…what, no ice cream and cookies?! Okay, I’ll admit to the occasional cookie. If you know me, you know I never say no to a cookie – life’s too short for that! But as I slowly started to shift myself into a diet that was filled with more whole (unprocessed) foods, smoothies just kind of happened, and I am so glad they did!
